Kagoshima Prefecture is located at the southern tip of the Kyushu region of Japan and is made up of the Satsuma Peninsula, the Osumi Peninsula, and approximately 600 remote islands.
Of these, 26 islands are inhabited, with a total area of approximately 9,188 square kilometers, making it the largest in the Kyushu region and the 10th largest in the country.
